FusaPrime™ Field Application Guide

1. Target Trees

  • Species: Aquilaria malaccensis
  • Minimum Age: ≥5 years
  • Minimum DBH: 10 cm (4 inches)

2. Application Overview

BarIno™ FusaPrime™ is a liquid fungal inoculant designed to initiate natural agarwood resin formation.

  • Primary function: Activate resin biosynthesis in wounded xylem
  • Secondary use: Baseline phase for sequential induction system (follow-ups: FusaTrinity™)

3. Required Materials

  • BarIno™ FusaPrime™ (500 mL, 1 L, or 5 L bottles)
  • Drill or hand auger with Schedule A-1 DBH drilling guide
  • Biodegradable plugs or wax sealant
  • Measuring cylinder or syringe for accurate dosing
  • PPE: gloves, mask, eye protection

4. Pre-Application Preparation

  1. Inspect Tree Health: Avoid diseased, stressed, or young trees.
  2. Calculate DBH: Measure diameter at breast height (1.3 m from ground).
  3. Determine Inoculation Points:
    • Trees 10–20 cm DBH → 1–2 holes
    • Trees 21–40 cm DBH → 3–4 holes
    • Trees >40 cm DBH → 5–8 holes
  4. Prepare Inoculant: Shake bottle gently to ensure uniform suspension

5. Drilling & Injection Procedure

  • Step A – Drill Holes
    • Drill at a 45° angle to trunk surface
    • Hole depth: 3–5 cm or 2–3 times the tree radius for larger DBH
    • Hole diameter: 8–10 mm (or as per Schedule A-1 schematic)
    • Space holes evenly around the trunk for optimal resin distribution
  • Step B – Inject Inoculant
    • Use sterile syringe or pipette
    • Inject 10–50 mL per hole (adjust according to DBH)
    • Avoid overflow or spillage
  • Step C – Seal Holes
    • Insert biodegradable plug or wax seal
    • Prevents contamination and fungal competition

6. Post-Application Monitoring

  • Inspect inoculation points monthly
  • Look for:
    • Resin exudation (“resin beads”)
    • Healthy callus formation around hole
  • Record resin volume, color, and texture for traceability

7. Safety Guidelines

  • Wear PPE (gloves, mask, eye protection)
  • Avoid inhalation of aerosols
  • Wash hands thoroughly after handling inoculant
  • Dispose of unused inoculant and contaminated materials per biohazard regulations

8. Key Tips for Maximum Resin Yield

  1. Tree Health is Critical: Only apply to healthy, actively growing trees
  2. DBH-Based Dosing: Prevent under- or over-inoculation
  3. Even Distribution: Ensure resin initiation points are spread around the trunk
  4. Follow Sequential Induction: Combine with FusaBlaze™ / FusaTrinity™ for export-grade oud oil
  5. Record-Keeping: Maintain a digital log or field sheet to track resin initiation and yield
